The Night Agent's Gabriel Basso lands next movie role in Juror #2

The Night Agent star Gabriel Basso has landed his next role in upcoming Clint Eastwood film Juror #2.

According to Deadline, the actor will join Nicholas Hoult, Toni Collette, Zoey Deutch and Kiefer Sutherland in the film which follows the story of a high profile murder trial.

Justin Kemp is a family man who has been called up for jury duty, though he finds himself grappling with a serious moral dilemma which could either free or convict the wrong killer. Basso will play the man standing trial.

Jonathan Abrams has produced the script for the film, while Tim Moore, Jessica Meier, Adam Goodman and Matt Skiena will also join Eastwood as producers.

Basso is best known for his role as FBI Agent Peter Sutherland in popular Netflix series The Night Agent. He also appeared in JJ Abrams 2011 thriller Super 8 and The Kings of Summer. The actor will next be seen in a reboot of The Strangers and upcoming Netflix film Trigger Warning alongside Jessica Alba.

Meanwhile Netflix recently confirmed that there would be a second season of The Night Agent, following its huge initial success.

Adapted from Matthew Quirk's spy novel of the same name, the show racked up 168.7m viewing hours in the first few days, making it the streaming site's third-best series launch to date.

"The last week has been a whirlwind as we've finally been able to share The Night Agent with the world," series creator Shawn Ryan said in a statement following the series renewal.

"We couldn't be any prouder or more excited to get cracking on season two to share the further adventures of Night Action with our newfound fans."
