Anne Hathaway "deserves" a Catwoman spin-off, Christopher Nolan has said.
The One Day actress takes on the role formerly played by Halle Berry and Michelle Pfeiffer in The Dark Knight Rises, which Christopher directed, wrote and co-produced with wife Emma Thomas.
"I certainly think she deserves it, she's incredible," he told Access Hollywood.
"Anne is incredibly precise and articulate about the psychology of the character. She's really built it from the ground up - it's just a delight to watch her perform."
He added: "She's an incredible character and we're very excited to see her and hopefully we'll leave people wanting more."
The Dark Knight Rises, which also stars Christian Bale as Batman and Tom Hardy as masked terrorist Bane, marks Christopher's third and final instalment in the Batman series. It opens in cinemas on July 20.
He also insisted that he would not want to direct any potential spin-off.
"For me, Gotham and these characters, I'm done. I've told our story and I'm moving on," he said.
