Notae, Tate lead Arkansas over Central Arkansas 100-75

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) — JD Notae scored 22 points, Jalen Tate had 17 points and 11 assists and Arkansas beat Central Arkansas 100-75 on Saturday night.

Notae hit a step-back 3-pointer with about five minutes remaining for his career 1,000th point. He finished with four 3s and was 8 of 18 from the floor. Tate was 6-of-8 shooting and had three 3-pointers. He also didn't commit a turnover.

Desi Sills had 17 points for Arkansas (6-0), which shot 53% from the floor (40 of 76). Moses Moody added 15 points and Justin Smith had 12.

Rylan Bergersen and DeAndre Jones each had 13 points to lead Central Arkansas (0-4). SK Shittu scored 11 points and Jared Chatham had 10 points and 10 rebounds.

The Bears jumped to a 10-point lead in the first nine minutes. Arkansas answered with a 29-7 run for a 41-35 halftime advantage.

Jaxson Baker's 3-pointer pulled Central Arkansas to 64-58, but the Razorbacks went on a 25-8 surge that included two 3-pointers each from Moody and Notae, and dunks from Vance Jackson and Smith.

It was the seventh meeting between the teams located about 160 miles apart, but the first since 1947. The Razorbacks have won all seven. It was also Arkansas' first regular-season game with an in-state opponent since 1950, when it beat Arkansas Tech 50-45.
