Sometimes movie cameos are just obvious. Think Bruce Springsteen in ‘High Fidelity’, Leonard Nimoy in ‘Star Trek’, Johnny Depp in ‘21 Jump Street’, and Keith Richards in ‘Pirates Of The Caribbean: At World’s End’.

Usain Bolt in ‘The Flash’ makes just as much sense as any of the above, and now the nine-time Olympic gold medallist has announced his intention to cameo in the upcoming instalment to the DC Extended Universe.

After being asked by MTV whether he’d be “up for appearing in a superhero movie,” the world’s fastest man insisted, “Yeah, that would be pretty cool. Maybe do a cameo in ‘Flash’ or something.”

Usain Bolt actually made his cinematic debut with the release of documentary ‘I Am Bolt’ back in November, while after being accosted by TMZ outside of a Hollywood restaurant he admitted he wanted to become an action star and even cited Jason Statham as his cinematic hero.

Unfortunately Usain Bolt’s best opportunity to start in ‘The Flash’ might have already come and gone. That’s because Rick Famuyiwa, who was previously attached to helm ‘The Flash’, directed Usain Bolt in a Gatorade commercial that was released in June.

Rick Famuyiwa dropped out of ‘The Flash’ in October, though, and we’re still waiting for confirmation of his replacement. This person will have to be revealed rather soon, though. That’s because the plan is for ‘The Flash’ to start production at some point this year ahead of its reported March 2018 release date.

But there’s every chance that it could, and probably should, be delayed so the film can get its ducks in a row.
