Spiderman: Into The Spider-Verse swings five places up to Number 1 on the Official Film Chart after a tight battle with Mary Poppins Returns. Following its release on disc last week, Into The Spider-Verse crosses the finish line ahead of the Mary Poppins sequel by fewer than 900 sales, meaning Mary Poppins Returns takes a step down to Number 2. With Avengers: End Game dominating the cinema box-office, 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War charges up six places to Number 3 as an impressive fifteen superhero films feature in this week’s Top 40, with thirteen of the titles based on Marvel comics’ characters including Thor, Captain America and Dr Strange. Mortal Engines rebounds seven spots to Number 4 following its disc release; Aquaman drops three to 5; Bohemian Rhapsody gets another week in the chart at Number 6. Ant-Man And The Wasp becomes the second film in the Top 10 to reap the benefits of End Game as it flies eight places to Number 7. This week’s highest new entry is The Favourite at Number 8 on digital downloads alone. Set in early 18th century England, a frail Queen Anne occupies the throne and her close friend, Lady Sarah, governs the country in her stead. When a new servant, Abigail, arrives, her charm endears her to Sarah. Starring an Oscar-winning performance from British actress Olivia Colman as Queen Anne. Black Panther enters the Official Film Chart Top 10 for the first time - giving Marvel a Top 10 hat trick - leaping ten spots to Number 9. Finally, Ralph Breaks The Internet rounds up the chart at Number 10. This week’s Official Film Chart online show features a preview of Keira Knightley in Colette, a biopic of the French novelist Sidonie-Gabrielle Colette available to download and keep from May 6.
