Olivia Munn Hopes For Deadpool Team-Up In X-Force

Her role in ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ might have been a little smaller than some fans had anticipated, but it seems Psylocke actress Olivia Munn hopes to be in for the long haul with the X-movies.

First up on her wish list is an appearance in the in-development ‘X-Force,’ which Munn hopes would see her team up with Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool.

The actress tells USA Today, “that would be a really cool thing to do. What he did with Deadpool was genius and I’m so excited for him.

“It would definitely be cool to see Deadpool and some of the other X-Men characters gather for an X-Force movie.

“I think that’s what the whole world is coming to - everybody unites together, right? It’s never just one character anymore. We all just become one movie.”

The idea of Reynolds and Munn sharing the screen in ‘X-Force’ is by no means outside the realm of possibility. While as with any comic book team the line-up of ‘X-Force’ has varied over the years, Deadpool and Psylocke have been notable members.

Bringing the characters together in a movie might have some complications timeline-wise, given ‘Deadpool’ was set in present day, whilst ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ is set in 1984. But then, just look at how well the the X-Men of ‘First Class’ have aged over 20 years (ahem).

‘X-Force’ is but one of a number of X-Men related properties 20th Century Fox have in development, with a script from ‘Kick-Ass 2′s Jeff Wadlow (who was initially linked to direct).

‘The New Mutants’ is also in the works from writer-director Josh Boone, whilst Channing Tatum and director Doug Liman are still attached to the delayed ‘Gambit.’

Prior to this we’ll see the ‘Deadpool’ sequel, provisionally set for 2017.

Meanwhile, ‘X-Men: Apocalypse,’ in which Munn makes her debut as Psylocke, is in cinemas now.
