The 87th Academy Awards are nearly upon us. As Hollywood’s finest earnestly await the results of months of campaigning and voting, let’s take a look at the event itself to find out when it’s happening how you can watch along at home.

Oscars 2015 Date and Time

The 87th Academy Awards will take place on Sunday 22 February, 2015. 

The event kicks off at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles at around 4PM local time, so that’s midnight here in the UK.

The broadcast will begin with full red carpet coverage before the glitzy ceremony itself gets underway. ‘Gone Girl’ star Neil Patrick Harris will host the ceremony for the very first time.

How To Watch The Oscars 2015 Live

In the UK Sky Movies Oscars, a dedicated Sky channel available in HD and SD, will broadcast the entire Oscars 2015 live as it happens.

'The Oscars 2015: Red Carpet Live' will air from 11:30pm to 1:30am on Sky Movies Oscars and Sky Living, before the 87th Academy Awards ceremony itself will air live on Sky Movies Oscars from 1:30am-4:30am.

You can get Sky Movies on other pay TV subscribers including Virgin Media and BT so best to check your chosen provider ahead of the event as it may require an additional subscription fee.

How To Watch The Oscars 2015 Online

Movie fans who don’t have Sky TV can watch Sky Movies Oscars contract free on NOW TV, the online streaming service, with the Sky Movies Month Pass. You could also watch the event on Sky Go, but if neither are available, you won’t be able to watch the Academy Awards live online legally.
