John Travolta waited 12 months to publicly atone for mispronouncing Idina Menzel’s name at last year’s Oscars, only to blow it by getting all touchy-feely with the ‘Let It Go’ singer live in front of millions. Watch the moment above.
Oh John, why did you have to spoil everything by being so… creepy?
Travolta had already had an odd moment on the red carpet at this year's Oscars with Scarlett Johansson.
The ‘Grease’ star was snapped sneaking up on the ‘Under The Skin’ star puckering up to plant a smacker on the unsuspecting actress. Check it out below. She doesn’t look happy.
But then things got even weirder (possibly) during the main ceremony.
Travolta’s Adele Dazeem flub was the talk of the 2014 Oscars and it looked like the actress/singer was finally about to get her revenge for the autocue-reading fail.
She was on stage to give the award for Best Original Song when she was given the honour of introducing the ‘Pulp Fiction’ actor as her co-host. Instead of using his actual name, she called him “Glom Gazingo” much to the delight of the audience.
"I deserved that," replied a laughing Travolta when he arrived on stage, then the face touching started.
"But you, you my darling, my beautiful, my wickedly talented Idina Menzel.”
It was all a bit icky and it looked like Menzel didn’t know what to do with herself, so she just cracked an awkward grin instead.
The two weird moments, coupled with this hilarious pic of the actor gazing at Benedict Cumberbatch across the room (below) which has been doing the rounds, ensure that Travolta has once again owned the Oscars. We salute you sir!
The award itself went to ‘Glory’ from ‘Selma’.
