Yahoo Movies Oscars 2024 announces Jimmy Kimmel returning as host
Jimmy Kimmel will return to Oscars hosting duties in 2024.
It will mark the ABC late-night host's fourth year at the helm of the Academy Awards, with Kimmel joking in a statement "I always dreamed of hosting the Oscars exactly four times."
He previously hosted the ceremony in 2017, 2018, and 2023, and joins the likes of Whoopi Goldberg and Jack Lemmon who have also hosted the show four times, though he has a long way to go to catch up to Bob Hope, an 11-time Oscars host.
Jimmy Kimmel Live! co-head writer Molly Kearney will also return to the 2024 Oscars ceremony as an executive producer for the second year in a row.

Speaking in a statement about the appointment, she said she is "especially honoured to be part of the Oscars team this year."
Academy CEO Bill Kramer and Academy President Janet Yang added in a joint statement: "We are thrilled about Jimmy returning to host and Molly returning as executive producer for the Oscars. They share our love of movies and our commitment to producing a dynamic and entertaining show for our global audience.
"We are deeply grateful to Jimmy, Molly and their teams for their incredible creativity and partnership and for going on this ride with us again."
It was announced earlier this year that there would be a shakeup in the broadcasting schedule for the Oscars with ITV becoming the new home of the awards as of 2024.

ITV will exclusively broadcast and stream next year's star-studded ceremony on ITV1 and ITVX on March 10, 2024.
Future Oscars coverage will also take place across ITVX's social channels, news, and magazine shows.
Darren Nartey, Senior Acquisitions Manager for ITV and ITVX, said at the time: "We are thrilled to be able to exclusively bring the Oscars to film fans all across the UK, furthering and complementing our commitment to films across our network.
He added that ITV was "looking forward to sharing the movie event of the year with our viewers".
The 96th Oscars will air exclusively on ITV1 and ITVX in the UK on March 10, 2024.
