Paranormal Activity is being revived for an all-new movie for 2021

Paranormal Activity is making a comeback with a hole new film for 2021, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Jason Blum and Oren Peli are returning to the franchise to produce the project, along with Christopher Landon and Steven Schneider, who are expected to executive produce the new movie.

Landon will work alongside filmmaker Will Eubank to recreate the Paranormal Activity horror franchise in a different way.

Landon announced the project on his Twitter page, he wrote: "I’m really excited for this — mainly because no one could possibly guess what new, crazy nightmares ⁦@superswift and I are cooking up. Expect the unexpected."

The work that Landon has done for the Paranormal Activity franchise is vast, he wrote four of the previous scripts, he will also write the script for this upcoming project.

Eubank is expected to direct the new movie - one of his recent directing credits includes Underwater, the thriller movie starring Kristen Stewart.

The details for the new movie script are being kept well hidden, however, it's possible that the upcoming project will continue to use the found footage device.

Peli created the Paranormal Activity franchise and wrote, directed and shot the first movie. The horror series focused on a family that was being harassed by a demon in most of its movies. The franchise used video and mobile phone cameras as a way to tell scary stories in a unique way.

The Paranormal Activity franchise is defined by the low budget of its movies, which have been extremely popular making them highly profitable. The first instalment in the series is considered to be one of the most profitable movies ever made, being shot for $15,000 and earning $193 million at the box office.

The new Paranormal Activity movie currently has a planned release date of March 4, 2022.
