The Parent Trap director Nancy Meyers and star Lindsay Lohan are teasing a special reunion, but it won't be for a sequel to the 1998 classic.

Earlier this week, Meyers uploaded a behind-the-scenes shot of her and Lohan working on the movie together (via Instagram), with Meredith Blake actress Elaine Hendrix also just visible.

She captioned it: "I have some #ParentTrap news to share next week. #ItsGoingToBeFun. (Not a sequel. Sorry!)."

As you'd probably expect, the filmmaker's followers seemed to explode with excitement, as one commented: "Omg omg we cant wait that long!!", while another added: "I JUST SCREAMED! and I don't even know what it is yet. Favorite movie of all time [sic]."

"Omg!!! I can't wait to hear!" declared someone else.

Meanwhile, Lindsay herself reposted an article about Nancy's Instagram activity on Twitter yesterday (May 22) – but what are they up to?!

Elsewhere, The Parent Trap actor Dennis Quaid recently praised Lohan for her incredible dual performance in the movie. She played identical twins Hallie Parker and Annie James reunited at summer camp after being separated during their parents' divorce.

Kicking back on the IMDB show (via Metro), he noted: "She had me believing they were two different kids. She was a savant. She could just channel anything like that.

"Some people are like that and the rest of us have to work at it."
