Paris tells her husband that she wanted to avoid a media circus at the hospital, saying, “If people found out, there would be paparazzi all over Cedars[-Sinai hospital].”

Her family was shocked to learn of Phoenix’s arrival. Paris walks into holding her son and tells her mother Kathy Hilton, “I got you a surprise. This is your grandson, Phoenix.”

“You’re serious?” Kathy, 64, asks before getting emotional.

During a FaceTime call, her sister Nicky Hilton Rothschild is equally surprised after seeing the baby, asking, “What is that? Is that real?”

Despite keeping his son’s arrival private, motherhood appears to be a fit for Paris, who says, “My life is finally complete. I’m so obsessed.” She adds that Phoenix is “so beautiful, so perfect.”

In addition to being a new mother, Paris is navigating the fallout after her family was stunned to first find out bombshells from the press that appeared in her book Paris: The Memoir. In the book, The Simple Life alum detailed her past relationships and living with ADHD and PTSD from alleged abuse she experienced at boarding school.

“It's not an easy subject,” she tells her husband. "Writing this book was one of the most difficult experiences of my life. Writing about things that I've never told anyone."

During a conversation with her mother, she admits was “embarrassed and scared” to reveal the truth to them.

“The fact that you couldn't come to us and we had to read about it online and in a book,” Nicky, 40, tells her sister as she breaks down in tears. “It's not right for us to just read about the media.”

Nicky also advises her sister to enjoy motherhood, sharing, “They’re small for such a small window [of time].”

Still, Paris is afraid to miss out on opportunities, saying, “It’s hard to say no” — which her sister calls “greedy.”

Paris clarifies she likes to “work hard,” but a counselor offers another reason that the star may be prioritizing work, saying, “People who are trauma victims have a very hard time happily bonding with their children.”
