Patsy Kensit confirmed for Death in Paradise 2023 Christmas special

Paty Kensit and Doon Mackichan are confirmed to guest star in the 'Death in Paradise' Christmas special this year.

The ‘EastEnders’ star will be joined by several other one-off additions to the programme, including Youssef Kerkour, Geoff Bell, Bronagh Waugh, Amelia Clarkson, Freddy Carter, and Leila Khan.

These guest stars will join the regular cast of Ralf Little (D.I Neville Parker), Don Warrington (Commissioner Selwyn Patterson), Shantol Jackson (D.S Naomi Thomas), Tahj Miles (Officer Marlon Pryce), Ginny Holder (Trainee Officer Darlene Curtis) and Elizabeth Bourgine (Catherine Bordey) in a festive episode of the crime drama, which is set in the fictional Caribbean island of Saint Marie.

In the special, DI Parker, DS Thomas, Officer Pryce and Trainee Officer Curtis attempt to solve the mysterious death of Gerry Stableforth (Geoff), as his wife Bella (Patsy) and children Benjamin (Freddy), Mariana (Amelia), and niece Riley (Leila) grapple with the horrifying situation.

While Patsy enjoyed working on the show, she couldn't keep up with her 'Death in Paradise' co-stars' after filming.

Speaking to the Daily Mirror newspaper recently, she said: "At my age I don’t meet people as I’m normally in bed at 9pm.

"On the show I just finished ['Death in Paradise'] they were going to the bar and I was like, ‘I can’t. I have got to be in bed my 8pm.

"I have got to wash my face due to the humidity out there. And I have got to be up at 4am.'

“By the end of it they didn’t bother asking me. The thought of going to a bar or looking for love … but these things happen when you least expect it. I got set up on a blind date so there you go. I use the word companionship.

“I’m not ruling the intimacy side of things out but relationships are different at this age and it is good and OK. You have got to be hopeful and grateful.”

Every series of 'Death in Paradise' is currently available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
