Johnny Depp's Weirdest Looks
- 1/10
Dark Shadows (2012) Depp’s big film of 2012 sees him play vampire Barnabas Collins in a very Tim Burton-like but no less fun-looking gothic comedy.
- 2/10
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest (2006) Captain Jack Sparrow is as famous as Depp is for playing him. The ‘Pirates’ films would have been near total garbage if it wasn’t for Depp’s mad-capped performance as the now-iconic pirate.
- 3/10
Edward Scissorhands (1990) The role that made Depp a household name. His first of many (so, so many) collaborations with Tim Burton is probably the best. Depp gives his most touching performance.
- 4/10
Alice in Wonderland (2010) Another Tim Burton project saw Depp don fake green eyes and a ginger wig as The Mad Hatter in this Lewis Carroll movie adaptation.
- 5/10
Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (2007) Amidst the huge success of ‘Pirates’ Depp found time to film this gothic and gory musical putting himself in the shoes of the famous barber.
- 6/10
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005) Tim Burton’s adaptation of the famous Roald Dahl book sees Depp try (and in our opinion fail) to match Gene Wilder’s iconic performance as Willy Wonka. He’s definitely mad enough for the role however.
- 7/10
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (1998) A psychedelic road movie from the mind of Hunter S. Thompson, brought to life on screen by Terry Gilliam with Depp as the drugged-up lead.
- 8/10
The Lone Ranger (2013) In 2013 Depp follows ‘Dark Shadows’ with another TV adaptation; this time ‘The Lone Ranger’ with Armie Hammer as the lead and Depp as his Native American sidekick Tonto.
- 9/10
Dead Man (1996) A lesser-known Depp film, ‘Dead Man’ is spiritual western film follows William Blake (Depp) on the run after killing a man, who meets a Native American called Nobody, who prepares him for the afterlife.
- 10/10
The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus (2009) When Heath Ledger tragically died he was in the middle of filming this, Director Terry Gilliam enlisted Johnny Depp, as well as Jude Law and Colin Farrell, to play Ledger’s character Tony and complete the film.
