The man who attacked and broke Britain First leader Paul Golding’s nose in prison is an Iraqi asylum seeker, it has been claimed.

Golding, 36, was attacked by a pair of inmates earlier this month, just hours after he arrived at HMP Elmley in Kent to start his 18-week sentence for religiously aggravated harassment.

The leader of the far right group suffered a broken nose in the incident and now it has been claimed that one of the attackers was Nasir Muhsen, originally from Iraq.

A source told The Sun: ‘It’s hardly rocket science to think Golding and the likes of Muhsen might not get on.

‘Officials are just glad it wasn’t worse.’

Muhsen, who was jailed for being part of a group who looted during the 2011 riots, is reportedly serving another sentence for a brutal attack on a prison officers that ended the victim’s career.

A Prison Service spokesperson said last week: ‘We do not comment on individual prisoners.’

Golding and the deputy leader of Britain First, Jayda Fransen, 32, were both found guilty of religiously aggravated harassment at Folkestone Magistrates Court on 5 March.

The pair were arrested in May last year over the distribution of leaflets and posting of online videos during a trial at Canterbury Crown Court, where three Muslim men and a teenager were convicted of rape and jailed.

The deputy leader was accused of going to the Kent home of one of the defendants, Tamin Rahmani, and shouting racist abuse through the front door.

Fransen, who was retweeted by Donald Trump when she posted anti-Muslim videos on her Twitter page, was sentenced to 36 weeks in prison.
