Pierce Brosnan Setting Style Trends Through the Years
Besides playing James Bond, Pierce Brosnan may be best known for his undeniably good sense of style. The Irish actor, who took on the role of James Bond in the award-winning films from 1995 to 2002, not only has mastered the art of acting but managed to perfect the art of dressing too. From his casual linen looks and pared-down off-duty ensembles to his red carpet suiting choices that always seem to involve an unexpected accessory (such as a silk scarf or pair of tinted sunglasses), the famous star consistently is impressively dressed.
The performer has had countless number of style-forward moments throughout the years. Take a look ahead at some of our favorites.
1978: In the United Kingdom
It seems that Brosnan always had an eye for style. In this photograph, snapped in the 1970s by Jeremy Fletcher, the young actor wears a cropped jacket with belted jeans.
1983: Posing at Home
In 1983, Brosnan posed for the camera in his Los Angeles home, wearing an unbuttoned silky red top and dark blue jeans.

A few years later, the Irish actor kept it casual by wearing an oversized Celtics jacket and khaki pants to attend the Saint Patrick’s Day parade with his late wife, Cassandra, and children, Charlotte and Christopher.
1985: A Printed Blazer
Brosnan walked the Out of Africa red carpet wearing an out-of-the-box printed blazer, a studded belt, and a matching black top in the mid-80s.
1986: A Leather Look
One year later, he decided to go for a sleek look by switching out a traditional blazer for an oversized leather one. Here, he’s pictured with Cassandra while stopping by the then-popular West Hollywood restaurant, Tramps.
Laid-back in Layers
Brosnan opted for a layered look while dining at Spago, a buzzy Michelin-starred restaurant in Hollywood owned by Wolfgang Puck. Here, he can be seen wearing a loose-fitting white button-down shirt under a light khaki overcoat.
1990: Casual in Khaki
The Irish actor is the master of casual dressing. Here, he’s pictured arriving at the Total Recall premiere party wearing a suede-like jacket, light-colored belted pants, and a black top.
1992: Golden Globes Rehearsals
Not only does Brosnan make sure he looks picture-ready for red carpets, but he also goes all out for rehearsals. Here, he’s seen at the Golden Globes rehearsals wearing a plaid blazer with a white shirt and sunglasses. The star would reach heightened levels of fame a few years later after starring in GoldenEye.
1998: A Beige LInen Suit
The actor and his then-girlfriend (now wife) attended the "An Evening at the Net" benefit for United Friends of the Children in 1998. While Smith opted for a floor-length dress, the actor decided on a black tee shirt tucked into a pair of oversized cream-colored linen trousers. The following year, the actor appeared on screen as James Bond again in The World Is Not Enough.
2001: Appearing on Leno
Brosnan kept it cool by wearing a camel-colored jacket and a gray tee when he appeared on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno in 2001. The then-48-year-old actor was there to promote his film, The Tailor of Panama. Some short months later, he would film Die Another Day.
