Pierce Brosnan throws doubt on Bond Oscars appearance

All Bond actors were rumoured to be appearing during a special celebration segment at the ceremony

Pierce Brosnan has thrown the rumoured appearance from all living actors who have played James Bond at the Oscars into doubt.

It was thought that, as part of the 50th anniversary celebrations of the film franchise, Bond actors Daniel Craig, Pierce Brosnan, Timothy Dalton, Roger Moore, George Lazenby and Sean Connery would be appearing on stage.

But Brosnan, when ambushed by celebrity website TMZ and asked whether the rumours were true, said: “Well, they'll be missing one.”

The reporter then asks Brosnan whether the missing Bond will be him or Sean Connery, to which he inaudibly replies with either 'could be' or 'me'.

Either way, it seems that organisers will be one Bond down on the night.

It was thought that the Bonds would take to the stage during a special segment celebrating the Bond series, during which Adele will sing the theme to 'Skyfall'.

It was also recently announced that Dame Shirley Bassey will make her first ever appearance at the ceremony.

The Oscars happen on February 24 at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.
