Piers Morgan calls guest 'the worst ever' after male objectification debate

Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan described one of his guests today as 'the worst we've ever booked' after a heated debate about male objectification.

Model Richard Holt appeared on the morning show alongside broadcaster Harriet Minter to discuss a banned underground advert of an older topless man.

After listening to Minter explain why she believed the ad was inappropriate, Holt joked he had "lost the will to live", but he ended up joining her side of the argument after Morgan shouted at him.

As Morgan shouted over his words, Holt declared: "Piers to be honest you are shouting so much, that I now want to join Harriet's [Holt's] side. I'm sorry but I now object to the fact that this man has taken his top off. I now find it a bit offensive!"

While Minter seemed to find his remarks amusing, Morgan took offence at Holt's backtalk and told him to 'shut up.'

He went on to say that he had been rude to himself, Minter and Susanna Reid and that he was the 'worst guest' they'd ever had on the morning chat show.

"You're the worst guest we could have booked for this. You have no idea what you're doing, you're abusing everybody including the guests and the hosts," Morgan began.

After the interview, Morgan said: "We've never had a guest who came on and immediately insulted you, immediately insulted the other guest, then turns on me, then changes his opinion.

"A complete about-face, and then just carries on being obnoxious. He was literally the worst guest we've ever booked in the history of Good Morning Britain which is quite something given the horror stories we've had.

"The last thing he said was, 'I don't suppose I'll be back'. You will never darken these doors again, you annoying little twerp," he said.

Holt had originally argued that most men "love being objectified" and that he couldn't see a problem with the advert as the older model was still wearing trousers.

Minter strongly disagreed with him, however, arguing that men shouldn't be made to feel insecure about their body image like women have.
