Piers Morgan was shocked to discover live on air that Good Morning Britain co-star Richard Arnold has been texting his wife behind his back.
The breakfast TV presenter was confused by showbiz reporter Arnold’s admission that he had been sending messages to Morgan’s wife, with colleague Susanna Reid accusing him of being “furious” about the discovery.
Arnold, who has just returned to the ITV show after a break, said: “I was texting your missus in the garden yesterday, Celia.”

Morgan blustered: “Sorry, why? Why were you texting my wife on a Sunday?”
Arnold replied: “Just a cheeky little commission.”
His colleague’s explanation clearly did nothing to put Morgan’s mind at rest, as he asked: “Really? What cheeky commission?
“You’re muscling in. Stay away from my wife on text message. We don’t want you turning.”
Arnold, who is gay, laughed off the comments as Morgan’s co-presenter Reid labelled the newsreader “furious” at the news.

Morgan has been married to journalist Celia Walden since 2010 and has a seven-year-old daughter with her.
He also has three sons from his previous marriage to Marion Shalloe.
This morning’s run-in with Arnold wasn’t the only time during the show that Morgan clashed with a colleague.

He protested that GMB director Erron Gordon tweeting that directing Britain’s Next Prime Minister: The ITV Debate was a career highlight was an insult to the morning show.
Morgan complained: "We've got our director back today, Erron, last week he directed the big debate and then he tweeted it was his career highlight.

"So his career highlight doesn't involve the people he works with every day, it's alright, we're not taking it personally.
"I was going to take you to the White House for my next interview with Trump but that's showbiz, you're gone."
The presenter disappeared off screen as a technical difficulties flashcard appeared instead, but he could be heard ranting: “There’ll be directorial difficulties, trust me.”
