As Game of Thrones fans the world over mourn the end of one the best-loved TV series of all time, one man hates it so much he has written an entire article about it - step forward Piers Morgan.

The Good Morning Britain host took to Twitter earlier this week to moan about the social media buzz surrounding the GoT finale, claiming to have never watched it. He tweeted: “BREAKING: I don't care what happened in the #GameofThronesFinale because I've never watched a second of this fantastical over-hyped garbage & never will.”

After facing a fiery backlash from Throne-fans, Morgan watched five minutes of the show, before slating it again, claiming his brain is ‘too big to endure it’.

Not be deterred by another backlash, the 54-year-old decided to watch the whole finale, despite watching none of the previous 72 episodes, and write an entire article about just how rubbish he thought it was - and he didn’t hold back.

He said about the show: “It shamelessly promoted bullying, manipulation, stupidity, sadism, misogyny malice, sexism, greed, rape and brutality.

“Forget the fantasy for a moment, and let’s get real: Game of Thrones was a miserable, depressing and barbaric televisual atrocity packed with absurd characters, incredible (literally!) storylines, ropey old acting and a message that life’s bloody awful so you may as well be awful too.

“I don’t mourn its demise – I joyously celebrate it. Like I said before I even watched it, it was just fantastical over-hyped garbage.”

It wasn’t just the show on the wrong end of Morgan’s withering scorn - he also had some fairly strong thoughts on the show’s fanbase. He said: “Game of Thrones ‘fans’, as I discovered this week, are horrible, mean-spirited and shockingly humourless people that spew mindless abuse at anyone who doesn’t share their view that’s it’s the greatest TV ever produced.”

Tell us what you really think why don’t you, Piers.
