Pixar releases trailer for new Up short Carl's Date
Pixar has released a trailer for the new Up sequel short Carl's Date, ahead of its debut in cinemas later this week.
The short features Carl getting ready to go on a date with a woman named Miss Meyer, and since he's not been with anyone apart from Ellie, who died quite a while back, he's understandably nervous.
Obviously, Dug is no help to him at all, with his idea of a good time being digging in the dirt and destroying flowers – but he's an adorable doggo, so that's forgivable.
The trailer doesn't feature any of the date itself, so we'll have to wait and see if it goes well for Carl when the short drops.

Carl's voice actor, the legendary Ed Asner, sadly died in August 2021, but had recorded his dialogue for this short film in spring 2021, a few months before his passing.
The short will be attached to Pixar's latest feature-length film, Elemental, which comes out in US cinemas this Friday and a few weeks afterwards in the UK.
Elemental, which received a mixed reception from critics when it screened at Cannes, follows anthropomorphic elements of nature – fire, water, earth and air – who live in their own societies.

However, a fire woman and water man meet and fall in love, and try and prove to everyone that they have more in common than different.
Schitt's Creek star Catherine O'Hara is among the voice cast, and is joined by Jurassic World: Dominon's Mamoudou Athie, Nancy Drew's Leah Lewis and The Goldbergs' Wendi McLendon-Covey.
Elemental is released in UK cinemas on July 7, and opens in US cinemas this Friday (June 16).
