A former police sergeant accused of raping a woman – once allegedly while he was on duty – left a woman “upset and distressed”, a court has heard.
Derek Seekings, 66, is accused of assaulting the woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, twice between 1994 and 2000.
The father, from Farnborough, Hampshire, who no longer works as an officer, denies two charges of rape.
Seekings, who served with Surrey Police at the time of the allegations, is accused of raping her while he took a break from work. He retired from the force in 2005.
Prosecutor Jennifer Gray told jurors at Brighton Crown Court on Monday: “She made it very clear to him she didn’t want to have sex with him, he carried on regardless and he raped her.”
He later returned to work, leaving her “very upset and distressed about what had gone on”, the prosecutor said.
The trial continues.
