Teenage boy, 15, dies after being stabbed during street brawl in London

A teenage boy has died after being stabbed in a brawl in London.

The 15-year-old was stabbed during a fight between a group of men in Garratt Lane, Wandsworth just before 5pm on Thursday (October 29), the Met Police said.

Another teenager, also 15, was also injured in the incident, which happened near the Garratt Lane Burial Ground.

Both were taken to hospital but one of the teens later died, police said. A post mortem examination will be held in due course.

The second victim suffered injuries that are not believed to be life threatening but remains in hospital.

Police said two males have been arrested in connection with the incident. The first - who had also suffered a head injury - was arrested on suspicion of GBH and the second on suspicion of affray.

Police said: “Full enquiries into the circumstances continue,” adding: “Specialist Crime detectives have been informed.”

A Section 60 Order, which gives police greater stop and search powers, was authorised for the whole of Wandsworth following the incident.

London Mayor Sadiq Khan called the stabbing “appalling and tragic” and said he was in close contact with police over the incident.
