Ant-Man Sequel Announced For 2018

A sequel to this year’s ‘Ant-Man’ has been announced by Marvel for release in 2018. Officially titled ‘Ant-Man and Wasp’, the film will be the first Marvel film to name checks a female superhero in the title.

The film that reunites Paul Rudd’s Scott Lang with Evangeline Lilly’s Hope Van Dyne is scheduled for release on 6 July, 2018. This new Phase 3 release pushes the dates of ‘Black Panther’ forward to 16 February, 2018 and ‘Captain Marvel’ back to March 8, 2019.

Evangeline Lilly’s character never got to wear the Wasp costume in ‘Ant-Man’, as it was only revealed in one of the film’s mid-credit sequences, so this is encouraging news for fans of the character.

On top of that, Marvel has staked out the dates for three currently untitled Marvel Studios films for 1 May, 2020, 10 July, 2020, and 6 November, 2020. This means that, as of 2017, Marvel Studios will release 3 movies each year up from their current rate of 2 per year.
