When you’re one of the biggest stars of one of the biggest comic book movie franchises on the planet, turning up to Comic-Con in disguise is more than prudent.
And so, when Mark Ruffalo hit the New York iteration of the worldwide expo, he did so in a mask – albeit a slightly terrifying one.
Avoiding detection wearing the rubber face adornment, complete with ‘tache and cigar, he roamed the corridors unharrassed.
He attended the event on Saturday with his son Keen (also pictured).
“Had a great time at #comiccon2015 NYC! Thanks ComicCon for the Hospitality,“ he wrote on his Instagram site.
“Got to hide out and enjoy #comiccon2015.”
But while a smart move, he’s not the first to have donned a disguise to wander the halls.
Rather brilliantly, Bryan Cranston hid in plain sight wearing a Walter White mask, the character he played in 'Breaking Bad’.
Both Maisie Williams have gone for Spidey in the past too.
Then Simon Pegg got in his Boba Fett get-up for Comic Con 2013.
Elsewhere, in a wholly necessary move, 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ star John Boyega wander about the 'Star Wars Celebration’ convention back in April this year wearing a Clone Trooper helmet.
Your secret is safe with us, John.
