There are so many villains in ‘Suicide Squad’ that it’s going to be hard to keep track of the despicable behaviour being depicted.
But while we all probably expected Harley Quinn, Deadshot, or The Joker to be the evilest character on-screen, it turns out that Viola Davis’ Amanda Waller is the worst of the lot.
During his recent chat with Empire Magazine, via Comic Book Movie, about ‘Suicide Squad’s’ goodies and baddies, writer and director David Ayer emphatically declared, “F*** good versus bad. Bad versus evil is a lot more interesting. And Amanda Waller is the worst there is.”
Viola Davis also insisted that Amanda Waller’s villainy is “relentless,” before then adding, “When you look at her, there’s nothing that seems dangerous. Her only power is her intelligence and her complete lack of guilt.”
But what can Waller really do that’s so bad? Well, to start off with, she injects a “nanobomb” into each member of Task Force X’s neck in order to keep control of them. Which is a rather bodacious way to keep people on a leash.
Plus, it’s her vision to get the ‘Suicide Squad’ together in the first place, and you have to possess a rather sick and demented mind just to fathom such a plan.
We’re still not exactly sure what ‘Suicide Squad’s’ actual plot will precisely consist of, but David Ayer gave us our clearest indication of how the film will proceed when he told Empire, “They’re after a high value target that they have to go in and rescue. When they make the attempt, they realise that’s not the end.”
Rumour has it that Cara Delevingne’s Enchantress is the target/big baddy of ‘Suicide Squad’. But it now sounds as if she’ll have to go some way to eclipse the horrid antics of Amanda Waller.
We’ll find out who is the worst when ‘Suicide Squad’ is released in August, 2016.
