Prince Andrew is 'spoiled and entitled', says friend of Epstein associate

Prince Andrew is “spoiled and entitled” and wouldn’t have known much about what Jeffrey Epstein was doing, according to a friend of Epstein’s former girlfriend Ghislaine Maxwell.

Maxwell was arrested last week and charged with helping Epstein lure teenage girls for abuse in the 1990s.

Laura Goldman, who has known Maxwell for a number of years, said Andrew “didn’t really ask questions” when it came to his friends.

She told Good Morning Britain on Monday: “Prince Andrew doesn’t know a lot, partially because he’s not that intelligent and he is spoiled and entitled, so he didn’t really ask questions about what’s happening.”

Goldman, a New York stockbroker, claims to have spoken to Maxwell within the last two weeks.

She has stated several times in recent days she believes Maxwell is a victim of Epstein as well, and told Fox News: “I think you will also find that she's a victim of Jeffrey Epstein, just like everybody else.”

Goldman added to GMB: “He would not let her leave. She tried many many times. There were things he had on her that if she had left in an angry way would have destroyed her life.”

Goldman has also told The Daily Telegraph that Maxwell “doesn't see any reason to speak about him to the authorities”.

Maxwell was arrested and charged last week by the FBI on five counts, four of which involve her conspiring to traffick girls to engage in criminal or illicit sexual activity.

She’s also charged with perjury.

She has denied any knowledge of Epstein’s activities.

Prince Andrew, 60, has known Maxwell since they were at university and is understood to have been introduced to Epstein by her in 1999.

He has been accused by one of Epstein’s alleged victims, Virginia Giuffre, of having sex with her three times, when she was trafficked by the disgraced financier.

Andrew denies the allegations. He has not been charged, but the FBI has publicly stated they would like to speak to him.

The Duke of York says he has offered his statement on several occasions and that US authorities have not responded.

He faced more pressure on Monday as Sir Keir Starmer called for the duke to cooperate with US authorities.
