The slideshow begins with a black and white photograph of the Queen and Prince Philip with Prince Charles as a child, before moving through more than 70 years of memories of the Duke of Edinburgh.

Throughout the family collection are charming snapshots of the Duke and the Queen, laughing together and smiling side by side throughout the years.

The roles included supporting conservation, education, sports and welfare as well as his legacy with the Duke of Edinburgh Award and International Award scheme.

Prince Philip sadly passed away last (Friday 9 April) and the family have made a number of moving tributes to the Duke.
