Prince Harry Opens Up About His Struggles With Parenting Archie In The US

Prince Harry has opened up about the difficulties he's encountered now that he's parenting Archie in the States.

Over the weekend, the Duke of Sussex took part in a Zoom call with former Rugby players, coaches and volunteers from the Rugby Football League, of which he is a patron, to commemorate the League’s 125th anniversary.

Speaking to the group, Harry revealed the one thing he’s struggling most with when it comes to playing with Archie across the Atlantic, months after he and wife Meghan made the move to California.

‘What I need is a few mini rugby balls that I can then get Archie involved with the game, because at the moment it’s impossible to find any,’ he said.

‘But I’ve got a little space outside, which I am fortunate enough to have so I need to get him playing some Rugby League.’

Harry, Meghan and Archie recently relocated to Montecito, Santa Barbara after moving to Los Angeles earlier this year. The decision came after the parents stepped down from their senior roles in the royal family in March.

‘I’m just unbelievably fortunate and grateful to have outdoor space and see my son able to be outside, because I know so many people just haven’t had that opportunity in the last five months,’ Harry continued.

‘Our little man is our number one priority but our work after that is the second priority and we are just trying to do everything we can to do our part to make the world a better place.’

The 35-year-old also revealed that he had plans to return to the UK this year but was forced to cancel the trip due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

‘I would have been back already had it not been for Covid, so don’t worry,’ he said, noting that he is excited for the Rugby World Cup, which will commence in October 2021.

‘You guys and the Rugby League community will have my commitment for as long as I can give it to you.’

The prince’s comments come days after it was speculated that his son might be subject to royal law when it comes to his wedding day in the future.

After Archie born on May 6 last year, his parents chose not to give him a title but given his place as seventh-in-line to the throne he might be required to ask the presiding monarch for permission to marry.
