It's almost been a week since Princess Beatrice got married to Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, and we're still reeling from how absolutely gorgeous her wedding dress was.

To recap, Beatrice borrowed the vintage Normal Hartnell gown from her grandmother the Queen (as you do), who previously wore the dress herself back in 1962.

But now, it's been revealed that loaning the dress from the Queen was actually a last-minute decision, according to reports, with Beatrice and Edoardo pulling their wedding together in just two weeks following the lift on wedding restrictions from 4th July.

The pair were originally supposed to tie the knot in May, but the coronavirus pandemic meant they had to delay their celebrations. However, the happy couple were finally able to get married on 17th July, less than two weeks after the lift on restrictions allowed weddings to include up to 30 guests.

After reportedly changing her mind last-minute over her dress, Beatrice "made a request [to borrow one from the Queen], and that was kindly granted—and it looked amazing!" a friend of the couple revealed to PEOPLE, adding, "It was touching for both of them."

And her wedding dress wasn't the only item that Beatrice borrowed from her grandmother, with the bride also wearing the same tiara the Queen wore on her own wedding day in 1947. However, the borrowed items are reportedly a fitting tribute to their relationship.

"Beatrice talks about her grandmother often, and it’s clear there’s a strong bond there—the dress and the tiara could not have been more perfect," another friend added.

The friend also revealed how the bride and groom, along with their respective mothers, Sarah Ferguson the Duchess of York and Edoardo's mother Nikki Williams-Ellis, pulled the wedding off at amazing speed.

"They swung into action and brought it all together in two weeks, which is quite extraordinary," they explained.

"Beatrice was so excited about it all, and I think they just jumped at the chance when the ban was removed. They were both desperate for it to happen. They wanted everything to be very classic and elegant; small but refined. It felt romantic and lovely," they added.

Pulling off a Royal wedding in such a short space of time is no small feat!

Congratulations to the happy couple!
