Prosecutors in Los Angeles are reviewing an allegation of sexual assault which has been made against Sylvester Stallone.

A spokesperson for the District Attorney’s office in Los Angeles has said that a case has been presented to police in Santa Monica.

Stallone is denying the allegations.

His attorney Martin Singer told CNN: “My client categorically denies the allegations.

“It’s outrageous that the DA’s office and PD would announce this information because it makes the public think that there’s something there.

“It’s not appropriate to try to ruin someone by doing this.”

The allegations first came to light in December last year, relating to an alleged assault which is said to have taken place in the 1990s.

Singer added that the complaint came from a woman who had been involved in a consensual relationship in the 1980s.

The case is being reviewed by a Los Angeles County task force, which is looking into alleged sexual misconduct in the entertainment industry.
