A Quiet Place: Part II has been delayed for a third time amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

The long-anticipated sequel to John Krasinski's directorial debut was originally scheduled to hit cinemas in March last year, a date that was pushed back to September 2020 to ensure the film had a wide theatrical release.

Last July, the film's release date was pushed yet again until April 2021 and it has since been further delayed.

The Wrap reports A Quiet Place: Part II is now scheduled to hit cinemas on September 17.

A Quiet Place: Part II stars the horror franchise's original actors Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe, as the Abbotts continue their fight for survival.

Newcomers Cillian Murphy and Djimon Hounsou join the cast this time around, while John Krasinski himself also makes a surprising return.

The film's run of delays follows Daniel Craig's final Bond outing No Time To Die also being delayed for a third time.

Originally scheduled for November 2019, No Time To Die is currently lined up to hit cinemas this October.
