The show, which is set in Victorian-era London and stars Matt Berry, Freddie Fox and Susan Wokoma, was renewed last year following its debut in 2019.
"We're hugely proud of this hilarious and fearless comedy series, but as result of the impact of COVID on our schedules we have made the difficult decision not to enter into a second series with a heavy heart," a spokesperson for Channel 4 said.
Layla Smith, chief executive of Objective Media Group – which produces the show – revealed they were looking to find a new partner for the show, referring to US broadcaster IFC.
"Year Of The Rabbit is a victim of the devastating effects of COVID," she said. "IFC are very committed to the show, but we will need to find another partner – and we're working on that."
The show sees Berry play a detective in London, who fights crime in the city alongside a hapless partner (Fox) and the country's first female detective (Wokoma).
Year of the Rabbit aired on Channel 4.
