Redmayne to play Stephen Hawking?

Eddie Redmayne could star as physicist Stephen Hawking in a new film.

According to Deadline, the movie, Theory Of Everything, is being made by Working Title, who made another film with the British actor, Les Miserables.

The Birdsong actor played Marius in the musical film.

Theory of Everything will focus on the relationship between Hawking and his wife, who is yet to be cast.

The British scientist, who has a motor neurone disease that has progressed over the years, is now entirely paralysed and communicates through a speech generating device.

Stephen's first wife Jane was with him from the time of his diagnosis. They were married for 30 years. When they divorced in 1995, Stephen married his former nurse Elaine Mason.

Jane published a memoir in 1999, Music To Move The Stars, describing her marriage to Stephen and its breakdown.

The film will be directed by James Marsh, who made Man On Wire.

British actor Eddie is currently filming Jupiter Ascending, directed by Lana and Andy Wachowski, with Channing Tatum and Mila Kunis.
