Clueless – iconic 1990's teen movie – has a memorable cast of Alicia Silverstone, Paul Rudd, Breckin Meyer and more.
But it could have starred the hugely successful stars Reese Witherspoon and Kerry Washington, who both auditioned for roles and were turned down, something they are gutted about.
So what are a pair of stars to do? Use their Hollywood clout to get the film remade, apparently. Or remake a memorable scene, at least.
"You know one thing that is public...is I auditioned SO HARD for Clueless and I didn't get it," Witherspoon said to Buzzfeed. "I did too!", Washington chimed in.
"That would've been a different... we should do, like, a remake..." she said, probably jokingly, but in today's current media climate where everything can get made and people like Danny McBride can reboot Halloween, it's not impossible.
Back in 2018, a reboot was reported to be in the works, with Girls Trip writer Tracy Oliver producing and Glow writer Marquita Robinson penning the script. Nothing has really been heard about it since then, but if anyone can get it off the ground, it's Witherspoon and Washington.
Last year, the main cast reunited at a fan convention for a perfect nostalgic throwback. At the time of the reunion, Silverstone said: "I loved playing Cher. It was such a fun character and working with these guys – every one of them was so much fun...
"I didn't know who that girl was, so it was really fun to be her. Because it wasn't how I lived my life."
