Reynolds finds Queen Of The Night

9 August 2012

Ryan Reynolds has been signed up to star in kidnap thriller Queen Of The Night.

The film will be directed by fellow Canadian Atom Egoyan, who will co-write the screenplay with David Fraser, The Hollywood Reporter reveals.

Ryan will play a father whose child has been kidnapped. But he is not expected to show off his action skills as he hunts down the kidnappers, as Atom's previous film, including Calendar, Exotica, Ararat and Adoration, have not been in that genre.

Atom is currently filming crime drama Devil's Knot with Stephen Moyer, Reese Witherspoon and Colin Firth, while Ryan has just finished shooting zombie comicbook cop comedy RIPD.

Queen Of The Night will begin production in February.
