Richard E. Grant wears iconic purple Spice World suit to birthday party

Richard E. Grant has re-worn the iconic purple suit he sported in the Spice World movie.

The Oscar-nominated actor took to Instagram on Sunday to share two photos of himself posing in a bright purple suit while standing next to his daughter Olivia Grant at a party.

In the accompanying caption, Richard revealed that Olivia had requested he wear the memorable ensemble he rocked as the character of Clifford in the 1997 feature to her prom-themed 36th birthday party over the weekend.

"Our beloved daughter @oliviagranted chose a Prom theme for her 36th birthday last night & insisted I wear my Clifford purple suit from SPICEWORLD THE MOVIE which has been zipped up in the loft for 28 years!" he wrote.

Directed by Bob Spiers, Spice World followed the Spice Girls - Mel B, Mel C, Emma Bunton, Victoria Beckham and Geri Halliwell - as they prepared for a concert at the Royal Albert Hall in London. Richard played the girl group's stressed-out manager.

"I was offered the role when she was eight, and her excitement about meeting the Spice Girls is something I will never forget!" the 67-year-old added.

Accordingly, a number of Richard's celebrity followers were quick to praise his outfit.

"And it still fits like a glove!" gushed Sandra Bernhard, while Rita Wilson posted, "Ah! The best! Love to you both!"

Richard shared Olivia with his late wife, Joan Washington.
