Rick Springfield on Touring Now: 'I Get Laid a Lot Less'

Almost 35 years after "Jessie's Girl," Rick Springfield is still at it, although he admits a few things have changed.

"I get laid a lot less," Springfield told ET's Nischelle Turner.

Turner joined Springfield at Club Med in Port St. Lucie, Florida, where he meets his fans every year for the Rick Springfield and Friends Fan Getaway.

"This is our fourth trip together," said one concertgoer who came with her family.

In addition to being a singer-songwriter, Springfield has also enjoyed a successful acting career, having appeared in General Hospital and High Tide. His latest role is an arc on the second season of HBO's True Detective.

"When I read for the part, I had to go on a website with a password and look at the pages," Springfield explained. "You couldn't even print them out. It's pretty full-on, lockdown security."

Springfield will also play Meryl Streep's love interest in the film Ricky and the Flash, out Aug. 7. Springfield got to coach the three-time Oscar winner on how to play the guitar in the film.

"She was concerned about her guitar playing, because she'd never played guitar," Springfield said. "She'd ask, 'Is this right?' It was really cool to see that. That still at this point she's not afraid to take chances."
