We always got the idea that Robert Pattinson had washed his hands of the Twilight franchise, never to return to the glittering body of Edward Cullen again.

Well, it turns out we were wrong – because Rob has actually admitted he's kind of "curious" about revisiting the wild ride that is The Twilight Saga.

Chatting to Yahoo Movies, the actor confessed he's tempted by anything that would 'subvert' audience expectations, which we reckon a return to Twilight would definitely do.

"I mean, I'm always kind of curious," he revealed. "Anything where there's a mass audience - or seemingly an audience for it - I always like the idea of subverting people's expectations.

"So there could be some radical way of doing it, which could be quite fun. It's always difficult when there's no source material. But, yeah, I'm always curious."

Kristen Stewart, Robert's Twilight co-star and ex, also looks back on the series in a relatively fond way – although we're not so sure she'd be up for any kind of future spin-off.

"I really never felt bogged down by Twilight," she said. "Every step turns you into the person you are, and yeah, it shaped me enormously. Not just those movies, but the subsequent effect."

Opening up about her and Robert's relationship – which lasted almost six years – Kristen recently revealed that the success of Twilight turned it into something "gross".

"People wanted me and Rob to be together so badly that our relationship was made into a product," Kristen told The New York Times.

"It wasn't real life anymore. And that was gross to me... I [didn't] want to become a part of a story for entertainment value."
