Robin Williams’ daughter Zelda has reactivated her Twitter account, three weeks after quitting the social network following vile abuse from trolls.

Zelda was targeted with what turned out to be faked pictures purporting to be of her late father lying dead in the mortuary following his suicide last month.

After seeing the abuse, she wrote: “Please report [the two users who we refuse to give print space to]. I’m shaking. I can’t. Please. Twitter requires a link and I won’t open it. Don’t either. Please.”

She later sent followers the message: “I’m sorry. I should’ve risen above. Deleting this from my devices for a good long time, maybe forever. Time will tell. Goodbye.”

The accounts of the two Twitter users who sent the offensive pictures were later suspended.

But now she has returned, posting a link to a quote on her Tumblr page from the actor Harvey Fierstein, a friend of her father who starred alongside him in ‘Mrs Doutbfire’.

The message read: “Never be bullied into silence. Never allow yourself to be made a victim. Accept no one’s definition of your life; define yourself.”

Followers welcomed her return, and saluted her bravery following the death of her comedy icon father.

One said: “YES MA’AM! I want you repeating that to yourself every single day. It’s exactly what your dad would want. He’s proud of you.”

“Thank you for coming back. Please don’t let the indecent people darken the light your father brought to all of us,” added another.
