‘Rude’ Emily Blunt Should ‘Leave Hollywood’, Says Fox News

The ever-charming Fox News has taken aim at Emily Blunt, who recently became a fully fledged American citizen, suggesting that she should ‘leave Hollywood’.

During the less-then-friedly 'Fox & Friends’ show on the news network, anchors Anna Kooiman, Steve Doocy and Brian Kilmeade took turns in slating the actress for remarks she’d made to the Hollywood Reporter.

“I became an American citizen recently and that night we decided to watch the Republican debate, and I thought this was a terrible mistake. What have I done?” she said.

“I’m not sure I’m entirely thrilled about it. People ask me about the whole day. They were like, ‘Oh it must have been so emotional.’ I was like, ‘It wasn’t, it was sad. I like being British.’”

“I had to renounce my Queen!” she added.

“The thing that’s weird is I do get to keep both my British citizenship and this, but you have to renounce her.

“But it’s kind of typically American - not to be rude. I had to renounce her in the room but I don’t actually technically renounce her. They were like, 'just say it, you don’t have to mean it but just say it.'”

This did not please the sofa-based pundits one bit.

“Why don’t you leave Hollywood, California, and let some American women take on the roles that you’re getting, because Americans are watching your movies and lining your pockets,” said Kooiman.

On the subject, Brian Kilmeade added: “Why is that typically American? By the way, she lived with Michael Buble in Vancouver and then married John Krasinski, who was very good in 'The Office’.”

He went on to say he didn’t actually know who the actress was.

Steve Doocy then added: “You know what Emily Blunt just did? She just Dixie Chicked herself. She has alienated half the country, that now will think twice about going to one of her movies.”

Only time will tell if Blunt has indeed 'Dixie Chicked’ herself.

Meanwhile, fellow Fox anchor Bill O’Reilly also had a few words for Ms Blunt too, which you can check out below…
