The news comes from Australia, with the host of Melbourne radio show Fox FM saying, "[I have] it on very good authority that Aussie actor John Noble will be appearing as the villain."

No further details were given about character or their sources, so its safe to say that this should be taken with a hefty pinch of salt.

Noble would certainly be a good choice however. He is best known over here for his role as Denethor, the mad Steward of Gondor in Peter Jackson's 'Lord of the Rings: Return of the King', his only notable foray into big budget cinema.

Noble has worked with 'Star Wars 7' director J.J. Abrams' before on sci-fi TV show 'Fringe', which Abrams produced over a five season run.

'Star Wars: Episode 7' is set for release in the summer of 2015.
