RuPaul's Drag Race winner Bianca Del Rio will soon be popping up on the big screen.

The acid-tongued comedian is making a very special cameo in upcoming musical adaptation Everybody's Talking About Jamie.

Bianca previously appeared in the stage show on London's West End in the role of Jamie's mentor Loco Chanelle, played by Richard E Grant in the film.

Her cameo features in a dreamlike sequence where the season 6 winner trades places with Jamie's art teacher.

"When they said we're doing the film, I was on the road, and [the director] reached out and said, 'we have this small cameo, would you be interested in doing it?'," Bianca told EW.

"I assumed, when I got the call, that someone was sick and I was taking over!"

Speaking about why she loves the story, Bianca continued: "What's great about this particular story is... it's not preachy.

"There are so many of these gay musicals beating you over the head like, 'blah blah blah, I'm gay, accept me, love my life.'

"[This is] a well-established character who's decided he wants to be a drag queen, his mother and his friends support him, and there's no discussion about that.

"Meeting someone who is a mentor, it resonated with me because in my life I experienced many people like [Loco Chanelle], who were welcoming to me because my family didn't understand me, so to speak, as a child, so you meet your theatrical family or your gay family and these people that kind of shape your life."

Bianca previously spoke to Digital Spy about her time in the show on the West End.

"This is such a great opportunity, how often are you asked to come and perform in the West End and be a leading lady?" she said.

"It was something about the story that I truly loved and it really resonated with me and I thought it was great storytelling, it's a brilliant show. It's interesting and it shows a side of drag that is great, but also a side of humanity that is great. If I can be a part of this then why not?"

Everybody's Talking About Jamie debuts on September 17 on Amazon Prime Video.
