Rupert Grint has claimed there was “a little bit of a spark” between his Harry Potter co-stars Emma Watson and Tom Felton on set.

Grint, who played Ron Weasley in the franchise, made the remarks about the Hermione Granger and Draco Malfoy actors in an interview with Entertainment Tonight.

“There was always something, there was a little bit of a spark.” he said of the pair, who have been rumoured to be dating in recent months after they posted numerous Instagram photos together.

Grint added: “But we were kids. It was like any kind of playground romance.”

As for any potential romances Grint himself might have had on set, he said: “I didn’t have any sparks. I was spark-free.”

Watson recently made headlines for comments she made about being single in a cover story for Vogue, where she said she prefers the term “self-partnered”.

Felton then told MailOnline: “I like it! It’s the first I’ve heard of it, but it’s great. I’m in the same category, to be honest with you, quite happily self-partnered.”

Speaking about a possible Harry Potter revival, Grint said: “It was an amazing period of our lives, but I don’t think any of us would be keen to jump back into it just yet. But never say never.”

Grint can next be seen starring opposite Nell Tiger Free, Toby Kebbell and Lauren Ambrose in the upcoming psychological horror series The Servant on Apple TV+.
