Despite a sprawling 15 years after their divorce, it seems that some people are still either Team Tom or Team Nicole.

According to reports, Russell Crowe and Tom Cruise did not get on on the set of Universal’s new monster franchise reboot movie ‘The Mummy’.

And it’s all to do with Tom’s treatment of Russell’s pal Nicole Kidman during their 11-year marriage.

A source told New Idea magazine: “He hasn’t been able to stand Tom for years.

“Russell is a loyal guy and never forgave Tom for the way he treated Nicole. If they’d stayed friends, he would’ve felt he was betraying Nic, so he froze Tom out of his life.

“He is very protective of his friend.”

Cruise married Kidman in 1990, adopting children Isabella and Connor Antony together, before divorcing in 2001.

As you might expect, neither Cruise’s people nor Crowe’s have commented on the reported rift.

But the pair did have scenes together in the new movie, which wrapped production over the summer, including an extensively choreographed fight scene.

Crowe plays the role of Dr. Henry Jekyll – yes, that Dr. Jekyll – in the movie, opposite Cruise’s hero Nick Morton.

It’s the first in a series of new movies based on Universal Studios’ ‘monster’ franchise, which will see an Invisible Man movie, as well as the Wolf Man, Van Helsing, the Creature from the Black Lagoon, and the Bride of Frankenstein.

‘The Mummy’, which also stars Sofia Boutella, Annebelle Wallis and Jake Johnson, is due out on June 9.
