Ruth Langsford SECOND contestant to reveal Strictly outcome ahead of results show

You’d have thought after Debbie McGee’s results blunder last week, Strictly’s giddy contestants would have learned to keep quiet. Evidently not.

Yesterday Ruth Langsford blabbed that she had sailed through to the next round of the hit BBC dance show by posting a boastful video on her Facebook page.

The video, which has since been deleted, showed Ruth, 57, saying: ‘Thank you so much for voting to keep me in Strictly Come Dancing!’

‘I’m just having the best time. And that tango tonight, I just loved it. And I did the worst dress rehearsal you could imagine as if I didn’t know the dance.

‘So I just thought I cannot go out and do that to him (Anton) tonight, it’s just not on. So I pulled my socks up and went for it, and fortunately, it paid off, but that’s thanks to you as well!’

The results segment of the show, which is always recorded on Saturday and aired on Sunday, is always embargoed until it is shown on air – and viewers were understandably annoyed at her mistake.

Then to make matters worse, Ruth also tweeted that she and partner Anton du Beke hadn’t been given the boot.

Ruth and Anton’s tango went down a treat with the judges though and despite her forgetfulness, the pair are proving to be a popular combination on the show and have so far avoided the dance off.

But viewers are calling for the results to be shown on Saturday night so that spoilers are less likely to happen.

Last week Debbie McGee let slip that Reverend Richard Coles was out of the running on her radio show – 12 hours before the results aired.

She then clumsily tried to cover up her gaffe by saying the reverend had fallen over.

Oh dear. Looks like the Strictly lot need to practise keeping secrets as well as their steps.
