Ryan Reynolds Wants To Play Deadpool For The Rest Of His Life

There’s not long to wait until the hugely anticipated ‘Deadpool’ hits cinemas, and its star Ryan Reynolds has been very forthcoming with his love for the character, saying he wants to play him forever.

Well, Ryan, forever is a long time. Just ask Chris Evans, aka Marvel’s Captain America, what he thinks about playing the same character for so long. (Hint: he doesn’t like it.)

While speaking recently to IGN, the charming actor has come out and said he never wants to play any other superhero character again apart from Deadpool.

“I never want to play another comic book character again; Deadpool, I would like to play for the rest of my life – that’d be fun,” he said.

Of course, his time spent on 2011′s ‘Green Lantern’ is perhaps one he’d prefer to forget, insisting taking up more than one hero role was, in likelihood, too much for one man.

“No, I’ve done a number of them, and I think it’s time for other people to do them now. You’ve got to share the wealth on that one.“

And not only did ‘Green Lantern’ fail at the box office and receive scathing reviews across the board, it was hugely detrimental to Reynolds’ career.

Either side of that, he’d appeared in a number of not so successful movies, such as ‘R.I.P.D’, but is now rebuilding his acting portfolio, having starred in well made indies such as ‘Buried’ and ‘The Voices’.

Thus far the critical reception leaking through for ‘Deadpool’ is positive, so perhaps Reynolds can continue to play the disfigured, foul-mouthed character for years to come and finally banish the memory of ‘Green Lantern’.

‘Deadpool’ is in UK cinemas from 10 February.
