Will Ryan Seacrest get fewer interviews on the Oscars red carpet? Publicists are reportedly buzzing

E!'s camera crew is usually the most important spot on any red carpet -- but that may change on Sunday.

Major publicists are quickly arranging for their high-profile clients to avoid Ryan Seacrest at the Academy Awards, according to Page Six. Earlier this week, Seacrest was the subject of a bombshell Variety piece alleging serious sexual misconduct by the famed host -- and despite firm denials by both Seacrest and E!, the story is making waves.

“Usually Ryan is the one you want," one source told the outlet, "but there are so many outlets on that carpet, why risk it? There’s plenty of other places for clients to get the exposure."

Stars will evade Seacrest to instead speak to fellow E! correspondent Giuliana Rancic, sources said, or they will skip E! altogether. If the latter turns out to be true, it will mark a major loss for E!'s tentpole "E! Live from the Red Carpet" coverage.

If a client were directly or indirectly involved in the #MeToo movement, "I would never put them in that position," one rep said of interviewing with Seacrest. "I don't think any smart person would."

Seacrest has adamantly denied claims made by his former stylist, Suzie Hardy. Among other allegations, Hardy says he repeatedly grinded his erection against her while only wearing underwear and groped her vagina. Seacrest's team says she is shaking him down for money.

Variety co-Editor in Chief Claudia Eller seemingly debunked that argument, tweeting on Wednesday, "We asked to speak to Seacrest directly and his reps declined to make him available. Seacrest’s reps claimed to have evidence discrediting the accuser, Suzie Hardy, but refused to provide that as well, citing legal restrictions."
