The 53-year-old actress and producer presented an award at the Academy Awards ceremony in Los Angeles on Sunday night but was forced to leave early after her manager Evelyn O’Neill fell ill.
Hayek tweeted: “As the parties were just getting started my date, friend, and manager, Evelyn O’Neill had a little accident, and I had to rush her to the ER where we spent the rest of the #Oscar night until the sun came up.”
The Like A Boss star shared a picture of herself at the Emergency Room at Cedars-Sinai hospital dressed in her sparkling electric blue sequinned Gucci dress as she supported her friend.
Hayek wore a full-length white Gucci gown to the Oscars ceremony and changed into the blue dress for the Vanity Fair Oscars afterparty, where she was pictured on the red carpet before she left for the hospital.
O’Neill had apparently injured her wrist, which Hayek pictured looking swollen and then wrapped in bandages.
Hayek said: “Thank you to the doctors and the staff of Cedars-Sinai for your professionalism and kindness. And Evelyn, I’ve never seen anyone take so much pain with so much grace! You are a champ.”
Ugly Betty star Hayek caught up with fellow Oscar-winning actress Penelope Cruz as the ceremony and shared a picture of her feeding Cruz.
Hayek was pictured arriving at the airport in London on Tuesday, where she has a home with her billionaire husband Francois-Henri Pinault.
The Mexican-American actress was dressed in baggy tracksuit bottoms and trainers, a long overcoat and an Oscars baseball cap as she walked through arrivals.
Hayek has a 12-year-old daughter, Valentina, with Pinault.
