Sam Riley is to star as Ivanhoe in a new film adaptation.
The British actor is set to play Saxon protagonist Wilfred of Ivanhoe in Iain Softley's epic adaptation of Sir Walter Scott's historical novel, reported Screen Daily.
The other roles in the upcoming remake, which has been scripted by John Brownlow and James Jacks, have yet to be revealed.
Yorkshire-born Sam, who played Joy Division frontman Ian Curtis in 2007 biopic Control, will next be seen alongside Kristen Stewart and Kirsten Dunst in Walter Salles' On The Road.
His other forthcoming big-screen appearances include Neil Jordan's fantasy thriller Byzantium with Gemma Arterton and Saoirse Ronan.
The 32-year-old - who also starred in Brighton Rock - now lives in Berlin with wife Alexandra Maria Lara, his co-star from Control.
